Ingredients and Benefits

EcoSunsafe™ Defense Plus (Ethylhexyl Triazone, Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine, Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate)

A photostable, broad-spectrum UV filter complex that works alongside Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide to significantly enhance SPF performance. Unlike older UV filters, it maintains its protective efficacy throughout sun exposure without degrading - delivering consistent PA++++ protection from the first application to the last. Free from Oxybenzone, Octinoxate, and Avobenzone - the chemical filters most commonly flagged for skin sensitivity and hormonal disruption concerns - making it a safe choice for pregnant mothers, breastfeeding mothers, and young children whose skin and hormonal systems are still developing.

Zinc Oxide

A physical (mineral) UV blocker that sits on top of the skin and reflects both UVA and UVB rays. It is the gold standard in baby sunscreens because it does not absorb into the skin and has an excellent safety profile.

Titanium Dioxide

A second physical UV filter that works alongside Zinc Oxide to provide broad-spectrum protection.

Sodium Hyaluronate (Hyaluronic Acid)

Baby skin loses moisture faster than adult skin, and sun exposure makes this worse. Sodium Hyaluronate - a deeply penetrating form of Hyaluronic Acid - draws moisture into the skin and holds it there throughout sun exposure, keeping baby skin hydrated, plump, and comfortable from application to reapplication.

Shea Butter (Butyrospermum Parkii)

A rich, natural butter extracted from the Shea tree. It softens and conditions dry skin, forming a gentle protective layer that holds moisture in and keeps skin feeling nourished. Sunscreen can leave skin feeling dry and stripped, which is the last thing delicate baby skin needs. We included Shea Butter to ensure every application also nourishes - its rich, skin-softening properties condition and protect baby skin throughout sun exposure, so protection and comfort go hand in hand.

Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract

Cucumber is naturally rich in water content and antioxidants. It works to counteract the heat and dryness that sun exposure can cause, keeping skin comfortable and refreshed throughout wear. Particularly beneficial for baby skin, which is more sensitive to environmental stress and temperature change.

Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract

Derived from the marigold flower, Calendula is an exceptionally gentle anti-inflammatory extract known for its skin-soothing and healing properties. It is especially helpful for delicate and irritation-prone skin.

Chamomilla Recutita (Chamomile) Flower Extract

Chamomile absorbs quickly into the skin, delivering its calming and soothing properties where they are needed without residue or heaviness. Its natural antioxidant compounds protect delicate skin from environmental stress, while its exceptional gentleness makes it one of the few botanicals trusted on newborn skin from day one.

Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Extract

One of nature's most studied skin soothers. Aloe vera calms redness, reduces irritation, and delivers lightweight hydration — making it ideal for sensitive and reactive baby skin.

Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E)

A stable form of Vitamin E and one of the most studied antioxidants in skincare. It protects skin cells from environmental damage and supports overall skin health.

Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B5)

A converted form of Vitamin B5 that penetrates the skin and attracts moisture. It supports skin repair, improves softness, and helps maintain the skin's natural barrier.

Allantoin

A naturally occurring compound known for its ability to soothe irritation and promote skin cell renewal. It softens skin and supports the healing of dry or damaged areas.

Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil

A gentle, lightweight oil rich in Vitamin E and fatty acids. It nourishes and softens baby skin without heaviness.

Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil

Mimics the skin's natural oils and absorbs easily, maintaining comfortable hydration without greasiness.

Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil

Rich in oleic acid and natural antioxidants, Olive Oil nourishes and conditions baby skin while it is being protected from the sun. It supports the skin's natural barrier and helps prevent the moisture loss that sun exposure can cause, ensuring baby skin stays soft and comfortable throughout wear.

Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil

A thick, nourishing oil that adds to the protective layer of the sunscreen, helping it stay in place on baby skin during sun exposure. It conditions and softens skin, and its natural fatty acid content supports the skin barrier - ensuring the formula feels comfortable and protective from the moment it is applied.

Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil

Conditions and softens skin, providing an additional layer of moisture support under the sun.

Dimethicone

A lightweight, skin-safe silicone that gives the sunscreen its water-resistant properties. For children who are swimming, sweating, and playing outdoors, water resistance is not optional — without it, sunscreen washes off and protection disappears. Dimethicone keeps the formula in place through activity and water exposure, without ever feeling heavy or greasy on young skin.

Purified Water (Aqua)

Water purified to ensure the cleanest possible base for every ingredient in the formula.

  • Under 6 months: No sunscreen. Baby skin at this stage is too thin and permeable for any topical sun protection. Keep your baby in the shade, use protective clothing, and choose a wide-brimmed hat for any time outdoors.
  • 6 months to 2 years: Apply specifically before sun exposure rather than as a daily indoor habit. Cover all exposed areas generously 15 minutes before going outdoors and reapply every 2 hours during continued sun exposure or after swimming and sweating.
  • 2 years and above: From 2 years onwards, children can use sunscreen the same way adults do — as a daily morning habit, regardless of planned sun exposure.

SPF (Sun Protection Factor) is a measure of how well a sunscreen protects against UVB rays, the rays that cause sunburn and contribute to skin cancer. SPF 50 blocks approximately 98% of UVB rays.

PA++++ (Protection Grade of UVA) is a measure of how well a sunscreen protects against UVA rays, the rays that penetrate deeper into the skin and cause ageing, pigmentation, and long-term skin damage. PA++++ is the highest possible rating, indicating the maximum level of UVA protection available.

  • Under 6 months: No sunscreen. Baby skin at this stage is too thin and permeable for any topical sun protection. Keep your baby in the shade, use protective clothing, and choose a wide-brimmed hat for any time outdoors. If sun exposure is truly unavoidable, consult your paediatrician before applying any product.
  • 6 months to 2 years: This sunscreen is appropriate from 6 months. Apply specifically before sun exposure rather than as a daily indoor habit.
At this age the skin barrier is more developed and establishing a daily SPF routine early is one of the best things you can do for your child's long-term skin health. This formula is gentle enough to support that daily habit comfortably through to 14 years.

Apply generously — most people under-apply sunscreen, which significantly reduces its effectiveness. Cover all exposed areas evenly, including ears, back of neck, and tops of feet. Do not forget the face, but avoid the eye area. Most dermatologists recommend the two finger rule as a simple guide for applying the right amount of sunscreen to the face and neck. It means squeezing sunscreen along the length of your index finger and middle finger held together — from the base to the tip of both fingers. That amount is considered sufficient for the face and neck combined.

Reapply immediately after towel drying, and every 2 hours during continuous sun exposure regardless of water resistance. Water resistance does not mean the sunscreen lasts indefinitely — it means it maintains efficacy during water exposure for a standard period.

Yes. It is formulated for face and body. Avoid direct contact with the eyes. If contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with clean water.

Some white cast is possible, and we want to be honest about that. Our Baby Sunscreen uses Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide - the safest mineral UV filters for baby skin, and physical mineral filters do tend to leave a slight white cast. We have minimised this by pairing them with EcoSunsafe™ Defense Plus, which allows us to achieve full PA++++ protection without relying solely on the mineral filters. We chose the safest formulation over the most cosmetically elegant one. Blend it in gently with your fingertips and the cast reduces significantly with application.

Sunscreen is primarily for outdoor use. However, if your baby is near windows for extended periods, UV rays do penetrate glass, so application is not unreasonable for longer indoor exposure near natural light.
